Puff Wig + Whipple Review

Last year around this time I bought a wig from Cyperous. I absolutely loved it but the style of it originally was not very flattering on my face. This is the wig I *think* I started out with. After a lot of dancing back and forth between my decision, I finally chose to straighten the wig [heat styling wigs are absolutely amazing, I encourage you to buy heat styling whenever possible!] and tease it.

My first attempt turned out as follows:

Myself modeling for RidiKitty Designs during the Sakuracon '10 Lolita Fashion Show

The wig was... alright. I was pleased with it at the time, but looking back on pictures of it, I'm less convinced of it's beauty. I suppose that happens! ^-^ Once the reality of my wig fiasco hit me I decided to slowly remove the teasing and see what shape the wig was in after wards.

It turned out pretty decently, if I do say so myself! The fibers were a bit battered, exacerbated by the straight iron I used to fix it up, but the result was cute! But due to my supposed "watching my spending", I thought I might once more need to make use of my beautiful blond wig and turn it into a loli-able style. And I turned once more to the teasing.

This time I decided to be much more patient and methodical about my teasing and styling. This was the tutorial I used, third down. And my result was this:

The bangs are now side-swept instead of blunt, which I believe are a lot more flattering to my face.

And the two teased up buns are much tighter and secure. The wig isn't perfect by far just yet, but I'm definitely happier with this outcome than the previous version!

Whipple Review

Whenever I seen that someone had found a deco kit at ToysRUs I was extremely excited. I could not think of anything I wanted more, and as a gift for Valentine's Day Shane decided to buy me the largest kit at the local ToysRUs when we went out this past weekend.

The box itself is very misleading. It's rather huge, bigger than a shoe box, but the amount of pieces that come with [10 different creations!] barely need more than a CD case!

The pieces it come with are cute, but much larger than I expected, especially as I've dealt with *real* deco supplies and those things need tweezers to really do anything with!

The strawberries and cherry that the kit comes with are absolutely adorable, and I do love the macaron pieces! My first attempts with the "Whipple" whip cream was annoying, frustrating, and disappointing. It had seperated in the tube and needed a lot of kneading to mix the ingredients. Unfortunately because the kneading motion had warmed up the whip cream it came out in nearly just white puddles!

The pieces the kit comes with are also large, which means they're HEAVY. Putting whipped cream between the two "cake slices" only results in the whipped cream oozing out because of their weight. Unfortunately there were a lot of issues with this kit. I'm glad I bought only one instead of all three that they had to offer.

The Whipple itself MIGHT be a decent investment because they sell the tubes separately for about 7 dollars. I'm still experimenting with the Whipple and the pieces they come with, but that's my opinion on the matter, for now! Perhaps further attempts will turn out better.

New Wig + Contacts.

While I'm still extremely excited about my newest purchase [or rather, the newest package I got] I want to do a quick post to share with you all!

I started out as a cosplayer so I'm constantly ordering wigs for different characters and such, and while cosplaying for Sakuracon isn't going to work out like I planned for it to, I had ordered a wig around the end of December in preparation for what I THOUGHT I was doing at the time.

I got that wig today!

It was originally supposed to be for Ryou Bakura from Yuugiou, but I'm going to loli-fy it [teasing, curling, etc] to work it into my wardrobe instead.

This isn't how it's going to stay styled, but a quick way to clean up a rather long wig [that needs cut a bit] enough for pictures!

And a cheesy grin for you folks!

I also received in the mail my brown circle contact lenses from Pinky Paradise. I ordered a pair of blue contact lenses a while back for a cosplay and I just had to have a more realistic looking pair, while they're made for dark eyes [the colors are AMAZINGLY vibrant] the middle of the contact lense [for your pupil] has a habit of just shifting a little bit to allow your natural eye color to show through.

So I decided to try a pair closer to my natural color!

I think they're absolutely fantastic. I got the Barbie Big Size Circle Brown lenses because my other pair are also Barbie and they're the largest that I've seen on the site. I absolutely adore circle lenses!

That's all for my newest purchases. I'll be back soon as I've got a few more in the mail! <3

CosplayWigsUSA Review

Alright! I've been absolutely atrocious about updating this with useful information, so here's the review I promised!

I bought the mint wig from CosplayWigsUSA! I originally attempted to purchase it from the site but due to unforseen issues, I had to contact them through their Facebook page and ask to be invoiced via that. They were very kind and quickly responded [within the day] and as Facebook's more of an immediate response sort of site the wig was bought and paid for within the same hour that they responded to me.

January 22nd [Saturday]: Wig was paid for
January 24th [Monday]: Wig was shipped
January 27th [Thursday]: Wig received!

I don't have pictures of the wig in it's original packaging, but it was in a padded envelope that arrived in fine condition, it was wrapped in it's seperate packaging and was packed inside a cardboard ring.

The wig is absolutely adorable, it's thick and beautifully styled.

The bangs are a bit too long but they're very thick and easy to style.

The wig itself is brilliant, the clip-in extensions are lighter than others I've bought but still thick and nicely curled. I'm happy that the wig is styled the way it is because heavier extensions tend to give me a headache when I wear them all day.

I can only rave about this wig so much, so I'll stop here, with one last picture.

Comparison between the wig's color and my Milky Berry's mint waist tie. I bought this wig to see how well it matches to the colorways that Angelic Pretty releases and I'm happy to say it's almost spot on. The wig's a bit more green-tinged [not noticeable unless you're literally an inch away and under harsh light] than the mint of the waist tie, but it's almost a complete match!

That's about it for my wig review. Thanks~!

I've Been A Bad, Bad Girl.

Miracle Candy! This is the coordinate I have worked out for it thus far, I am hoping to balance out all the pink with a few more blue accessories and shoes because I just love the pink x blue coordinations!

AP wrist-cuffs would be a dream come true, however I'll probably just get a pair commissioned in blue.

Secret Shop candy socks in white, I thought about getting them in blue but in case I decide to do a pinkxwhite coordination, I'm trying to stick with white [unless I give in and just buy both!]

Secret Shop shoes. I absolutely love Secret Shop shoes, and I love ones with a wedge instead of a flat or a heel! These are available for pre-order, so I'm hoping I can get my hands on a pair.

And preferably more candy-themed sax jewelry, including smaller bows for my hair.

And this gorgeous, lovely wig! I'm not a fan of half-half wigs, but this wig has been my favorite ever since I spied it on CosplayWigsUSA, so I will not resist getting it for this coord!

I'm hoping all this extra blue will balance out the mass amount of pink that is the MC skirt! I'd prefer not to be a big ball of pink if I can help it.

I'm still keeping my eyes open for coordinations for my Milky Berry OP, but there's just so much more to get for it that I can't even begin to really focus! Plus, for some reason, I am desperately, truly in love with my Miracle Candy skirt. I love the way it fits and looks!

In other news: ClobbaOnline might not be this month's group order, as with the Chinese New Year coming up they might not be able to stock my entire order. I wish I would have released this sooner, I feel so silly! Granted I'm not sure how Bodyline and Fan+Friend treat the Chinese New Year so it'll just be a matter of seeing what order will be the easiest to fill at this time of the year.

Clobba's order is as follows thus far:
- Infanta's Rose Embroidery Brass Button Coat
- Dream of Lolita's Candy Pop and Candy Treat bags
- Two Classical Puppet's A-Line Pettis
- Secret Shop Candy socks [possibly two]
- Secret Shop Strawberry socks

Hopefully I'll be able to place this order by the end of this week if all goes well! Other than that, per my title, I've got to admit that I've been bad. I said I was done ordering things until I got paid again [Hooray for trying!] and I failed [Boooo!], so the newest addition to my wardrobe is an Angelic Pretty Boston Bag.

I'm sure I'll find use for it!

I can't help what I fall in love with. ;3;

It's so sweet, I could choke on it.

After receiving some unexpected money for Christmas from my family members, I found myself lured onto the sales community once more. I was being such a good girl, saving money to put away for savings for things like moving and attending convention in the upcoming months... and then my best friend got her hands on the Milky Berry JSK in black, and it was so adorably cute that I wanted to strangle myself with my Jewelry Jelly waist ties.

Which, by the way, I managed to rip one off due to some pure stupidity, but thankfully I am handy with a needle and thread!

This is Lindsey in her new JSK and our friend Kayla in my Marie Antoinette JSK
For once I played photographer to get a few cute pictures of the two of them! The more brand I come to own, the more I encourage the people around me to wear and buy it as well!

As I was saying, though... she got Milky Berry for herself for Christmas and I just couldn't help giving the sales community a few speculative glances. And I swear, as Fate deems it necessary, every time I look at the sales communities I find at least one thing that I desperately want. In fact, only a few days after she received her JSK and I started haunting post after post, an auction came up for Milky Berry again...

Angelic Pretty's very gorgeous Mint Milky Berry OP

The auction came up at a starting bid of $250 dollars for this completely UNOPENED OP, tags and fabric swatch still attached, and I consoled myself, unwilling to hope that it'd stay at such a low price as the two day auction came to an end. I stalked the post for hours before the deadline and only one person showed interest- only to find the dress would not fit her. Imagine my excitement!

Dreadfully long story cut short: I won the auction on December 30th, and the item in question was hopefully sent out on December 31st!

I already own socks and shoes that work perfectly with this colorway, however I'm bit torn up about wigs. I planned on getting one or two new ones but I have yet to fully get rid of either my The Cutest Dog / Most Delicious Frappe JSK [which I'm planning on selling to a friend decently cheap] and my Rose Melody JSK [worst investment ever!] So I'm unfortunately waiting until at least one of those transactions finish.

However that does not stop me from looking! The dear, dear people at Cosplay Wigs USA are selling two gorgeous wigs at a discount for the New Years:

Mint <3

This beauty that I worry may be too matchy-matchy with a mint OP [or possibly not match at all!]

Blue x Pink
And this incredibly gorgeous [but unfortunately very popular] blue and pink mixed wig. Honestly, if I got either of them I know at the very least match my Jewelry Jelly OP, however I'm just not sure which route to go with Milky Berry, or if I should perhaps just let it get here first and test it with the wigs I already have!

Most likely that last option, it seems the least encouraged by crazed-excitement.

In the meanwhile however Shane, sweet guy that he is, offered to buy me an Angelic Lucky pack... unfortunately that was a no-go, as even though I was online at 12:00AM to purchase it, in the time it took me to paste my Credit Card number into the account information section someone had already bought the pack out from under me.

Thankfully I was much less disappointed by this than I expected, and have in fact found a replacement for the pack I can't get in the form of another dream item!

Angelic Pretty's Miracle Candy Skirt
I've been stalking the girl selling this skirt on the communities for longer than the Milky Berry fiasco and she has yet to sell it, so I finally made an offer on it. It's about fifty dollars less than what I would have spent on the lucky pack that I didn't really need and it's on my dream list of items I wish to procure the most!

I'm just so pleased with the way things are going at the moment, between selling off the items I don't need and the possibility of getting a skirt that allows me to make use of a gorgeous knitted cutsew I bought on a whim ages ago... I'm so ecstatic!

I would love to get rid of my Baby replica bag [it's off-white and suits nothing I own!] and the matching parasol, as well as the extra pairs of socks I own. However I'd like to replace those things with a proper brand parasol and bag, socks that match my Miracle Candy skirt, and more headbows and what not!

It's a never ending goal to perfect the lolita wardobe, I guess. <3 One that I enjoy immensely!
